MARGO is seeking a seasoned SD-WAN Engineer to lead end-to-end SD-WAN deployments for a major financial services infrastructure transformation. You’ll design, configure, and roll out Fortinet SD-WAN solutions across multiple sites while ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices.
📍 Location: Hybrid, London
🎯 Your mission:
Drive the seamless deployment and ongoing management of a Fortinet SD-WAN environment -managing project timelines, configurations, and operational handoffs across diverse global locations.
💼 What you’ll do:
- End-to-End Project Delivery
- Lead SD-WAN rollouts from planning through cut-over, ensuring on-time delivery across all sites
- Develop detailed migration plans, run site surveys, and coordinate logistics with local IT teams
- Configuration & Deployment
- Configure Fortinet SD-WAN appliances to meet performance, security, and reliability targets
- Perform failover validation, QoS tuning, and policy enforcement per corporate standards
- Governance & Support
- Adhere to ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
- Document configurations, network topologies, and operational procedures
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work independently and liaise with network architects, third-party vendors, and support teams
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to ensure successful adoption
🧠 Technical fit – what we’re looking for:
- Proven track record delivering SD-WAN projects end-to-end
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and deploying Fortinet SD-WAN solutions
- Familiarity with ITIL processes in structured IT environments
- Ability to manage multiple site rollouts independently, with excellent planning and communication skills
🌟 Nice to have:
- Experience migrating from legacy SD-WAN platforms (e.g., Ipanema)
- Knowledge of network automation or orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
- Understanding of multicast, BGP/OSPF, and advanced routing concepts
🛠 Tech stack & skills:
- SD-WAN Platform: Fortinet (FortiGate/FortiManager)
- Networking: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, failover testing
- Processes: ITIL (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Tools: Monitoring dashboards, configuration management repositories
