Are you a logistics professional with a knack for planning, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service? Join our Sea Logistics Intermodal team in Aston, Birmingham. As a Sea Logistics Intermodal Specialist, you will act as the central point of contact for internal customers and suppliers, overseeing delivery planning, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring smooth intermodal operations. This role is pivotal in providing top-tier service to customers while managing escalations and ensuring cost-effective logistics solutions.
How you create impact
- Plan and execute deliveries with a focus on cost efficiency, adhering to diverse terms and agreements.
- Oversee road and rail provider volumes to ensure compliance with contracts.
- Manage restitution agreements to prevent unrecoverable costs.
- Monitor and manage automated booking systems and rate jobs in alignment with agreed tariffs.
- Address non-conformance issues, including delays and rebookings, while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Provide evidence and resolve queries related to rates and out-of-scope charges.
- Drive continuous improvement in intermodal operations.
What we would like you to bring
- Strong knowledge of UK container transport operations across road and rail.
- Proven experience in transport planning or export sea logistics.
- Solid understanding of UK geography.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Nice to have: Knowledge of TOPs transport planning system
