We are recruiting for a Security Consultant to work within our Vulnerability, Detection & Remediation (VDR) practice. Our VDR service is a fully managed solution that delivers continuous vulnerability assessments to proactively identify emerging threats across your environment, including high-risk zero-day vulnerabilities. For assets covered by remediation, the service also provides a rapid protection capability, enabling swift patching, fixing, or mitigation of detected vulnerabilities to minimise risk and ensure business continuity.
Playing a vital role in our Managed Services team, you’ll work directly with customers to identify, assess, and remediate known vulnerabilities across their environments, delivering tailored, effective solutions in line with defined SLAs. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where your expertise will directly contribute to improving our clients’ security posture and resilience.
Day to day, you will:
- Develop processes and drive improvement to deliver tight SLA’s and KPI’s for our customers leveraging vulnerability and assessment tools such as Qualys and Microsoft’s EDR offering.
- Analyse vulnerability test reports and provide remediation/mitigation plans to the team.
- Integrate with our vendors and security providers to identify the most up-to-date information on the latest vulnerabilities and deliver key awareness and remediation recommendations to our customers.
- Work closely with LIMA’s Operation team to plan and implement internal security adoption across all our platforms including our hosted cloud platform, aligning to CE+, ISO 27001/27002 and ITIL.
- With the Technical Services Manager, identify and implement the best practice security posture for LIMA’s Managed Services Engineers when working with customers and vendors.
- Produce detailed executive reports on our customers and liaise with them to provide context and insight-driven data on their security status.
- Develop automated insight-led reports, which will provide standardised and efficient context to all customer engagements.
Our ideal candidate:
Able to demonstrate proven experience with technical accreditations or demonstrable experience in security and vulnerability remediation technologies:
- Security Tooling: OWASP ZAP, Nmap, Wireshark
- Assessment Tooling: Nessus, Qualys, etc
- Remediation Tooling: Microsoft Endpoint Management/Intune
- Microsoft Security/Compliance: MFA, Conditional Access, SSPR, DLP, IPM, IRM, DKIM, MCAS
- Application packaging for automated deployment
- Intermediate scripting experience utilising PowerShell or Python
You should have a strong and proven troubleshooting methodology, along with the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and non-technical levels, in both written and verbal forms. The role requires someone who can manage their own time and responsibilities independently while adhering to strict customer SLAs. Accurate time recording, record keeping, and maintaining up-to-date customer information are essential. Additionally, experience working alongside service departments within a standard ITIL framework is highly desirable.
