SEN Teaching Assistant
- Annual Salary: £13 - £14 per hour
- Location: King's Lynn, Wisbech, Peterborough and Stamford
- Job Type: Full time (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing educational support to students with special educational needs. The position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the head teacher and SENCO.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary.
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
- Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role, or substantial experience caring for a family member with SEN, providing a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced.
- Understanding of the needs of students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach.
