Position Overview
Insulet is a high-growth medical device company, with the mission of improving the lives of people with diabetes, listed on the NYSE (PODD). The Senior Accountant will support in the monthly/ quarterly accounting close and financial reporting process of Insulet’s International business. The International region currently consists of EMEA, APAC and the Middle East with customers in the B2B, B2C and medical sector (e.g. health insurance funds) and exists of 15 legal entities and/or branches. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. This role is for fixed period of 14 months (maternity cover).
The Senior Accountant will be tasked with managing primarily revenue accounting entries, and recording financial transactions for both group reporting purposes and local statutory reporting. He/she will work closely with finance leaders in a fast-paced public company to execute on financial operational initiatives, monthly financial reporting and internal control compliance.
In this high-growth and fast paced environment continuous development of the processes and systems is crucial. The successful candidate for this role should preferably have a track record of having identified and implemented process and systems improvements. As such, the Senior Accountant should provide a thorough understanding of ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for the assigned affiliates and areas (mainly revenues) as well as monitor entries posted by other accounting functions
- Work closely with various teams to understand revenue processes and stay up to date with recent developments within the business and ensuring accurate treatment of revenues
- Analyse monthly and quarterly fluctuations in Account Receivables and Revenues accounts, including working with FP&A and other business partners to understand underlying business drivers
- Prepare monthly balance sheets reconciliations for the assigned accounts
- Assist with review of monthly US GAAP results and preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to US Parent in relation to the 10Q/K consolidated reporting
- Support quality and timeliness of internal control requirements associated with general ledger reporting, including SOX404
- Support the team in working with external advisors in the preparation and audits of statutory financial statements and supporting notes
- Assist Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Manager in the review of accounting activities performed by the Accountants in the team
- Involvement in special OTC projects, new system developments testing and ad-hoc reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated accounting experience in a fast-growing environment
- Strong accounting knowledge, especially related to revenue (US GAAP preferred)
- Awareness of Sarbanes Oxley legislation
- Deadline driven with highest possible accuracy
- Strong experience in working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Prior experience in working in a fast-paced publicly traded company is a plus.
- Preferably a track record of continuous development of processes and systems
