The Purpose:
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple international entities, including the UK, Germany, Singapore, and Australia. This includes preparing monthly accounts, performing balance sheet reconciliations, drafting statutory financial statements, and supporting audits. Beyond core accounting responsibilities, this role is crucial in driving continuous improvement within the finance function, contributing significantly toto system enhancements, process optimisation, and the implementation of automation initiatives to strengthen financial accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency. You will be an integral part of our Accounting team that is composed of other passionate Accounting teams, with colleagues located in London, Munich, Luxembourg and Sao Paolo.
Your impact in this role:
- Responsible for accurate monthly accounting for several PPRO’s entities across UK, Germany, Singapore and Australia
- Development of balance sheet reconciliations and provide monthly financial reporting with variance analysis
- Maintain intercompany reconciliations
- Preparation of statutory accounts across various countries, ensuring that annual financial statements are compliant with appropriate accounting standards
- Act as the primary contact person for year-end audits
- Drive and support accounting system migrations and enhancements, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing streamlined solutions.
- Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities if needed
What would make you a great fit:
- Qualified Accountant (Big 4 preferred)
- 1-2 years post qualification experience in finance
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
- Experience in payments industry/client funds preferred
- Experience of capitalisation of internally generated software
- Experience in IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards (HGB)
- Good communication skills and ability to work with remote teams
- Excel skills (advanced)
- ERP experience (preferred Microsoft Dynamics, Netsuite, Xero)
