This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join our hospital’s team. Working with the current Finance Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the accounts department in this established and highly regarded private hospital and ensuring commercial success of the business. This is a new role which has been instigated by the increased activity of the hospital. The aim is for promotion to head of finance after a review once in post.
The position is fully onsite and based at the head office in Banbury.

The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital, based in Aylesbury since 1832, joined the Akessa Health Care group in 2023. Now a family-owned facility, it serves private, insured, and NHS patients, with a strong culture of staff empowerment and clinical leadership.
We are currently investing in major upgrades, including full refurbishment, a new radiology suite (with CT), and the construction of modern theatres and endoscopy facilities due for completion in late 2025.
Harley Street Maxillofacial Clinic based in Central London is a one stop clinic for oral, wisdom teeth, facial and jaw surgery, delivered by highly specialised surgeons and within an integrated multidisciplinary team of allied clinicians.
All the hospitals are clinically led, CQC-rated ‘Good’, and supported by robust IT, governance, accountancy and operational systems. We foster a collaborative environment where every team member has a voice in shaping the future of care.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
· Financial experience in UK medical sector.
· Fully Qualified Accountant ACA or ACCA.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience.
· Strong IT and Excel skills (required) and Compucare (desirable).
· Reliable and able to work in a timely and efficient manner.
· Willing to take a hands-on approach to daily/monthly finance operations.
· Proactive and team spirited.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
What we need from you:
· Leadership of Finance function.
· Deliver timely and accurate management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, including month end deadlines.
· Deliver accurate and timely information to various medical contractual bodies on monthly activity.
· Ensure tax, Co-sec, pension and payroll compliance.
· Assisting with the preparation of the statutory accounts and liaising with auditors.
· Ownership of the Company’s internal control processes, accounts recording and administration of the Compucare accounts software.
· Prepare ad hoc financial reports at the request of management.
· Support Heads of Department to drive financial performance.
