THE JOB
The main role is to ensure internal policies and controls are followed, and monthly deliverables are achieved within agreed timeframes. Monitoring and review of monthly expenditure, making sure it is in line with budget and explaining any variances. Working with all departments and the Senior Leadership Team to help make financial decisions. Have a focus on continuous improvement.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Senior Accounts Assistant processes invoices and statements, manages the weekly multi-currency payment runs, and ensures suppliers are paid on time. They prepare royalty reports and review aged balances for both creditors and debtors, taking action where necessary.
They handle bank and stock reconciliations, work with QA to review obsolete or scrap stock levels, and contribute to cash flow forecasting, including managing forward currency contracts. The role includes processing monthly payroll and preparing related reports.
At month end, they prepare the profit and loss account, balance sheet, intercompany reconciliations, and group consolidation. They support budgeting and financial data analysis as required. The Senior Accounts Assistant is also the finance contact for the ERP system, providing support across departments, assisting with testing and upgrades, and reviewing data trends.
