For this role…
We are looking for someone who is passionate about leading and building high-performing agile teams to deliver valuable products and services for ITV. Agile delivery managers within viewer experience technology work across a range of cross-functional work streams to deliver value to consumers of ITV’s digital propositions, which includes ITVX and ITV News.
Some of the day-to-day responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the successful delivery of the overall video portfolio, spanning 5 video teams. Teams are formed of a fully cross functional viewer journey team and technical platform domain teams.
- Work with product managers, engineering managers, senior leaders and other stakeholders to ensure transparent goals and priorities aligned to objectives.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative stakeholder relationships, managing expectations and ensuring transparent clear communications on work status and progress of overall video portfolio.
- Help identify and remove impediments across your teams, escalating where necessary.
- Coach, motivate and empower teams through the adoption of agile values, principles and good practices.
- Coordinate with other delivery managers to provide transparency and insights at a team, product area and portfolio level.
- Use data and metrics to monitor progress, identify potential issues early and inform decision making.
- Coach, mentor and guide teams to optimise delivery flow and to continuously improve.
- Be a positive change agent and coach our teams to new or improved ways of working
- Line manage and support the growth of your agile delivery managers. Identifying skill gaps and promoting continuous learning.
- Facilitate team and cross-team events.
- Use tools like Jira and Confluence to help teams plan, coordinate and optimise flow.
- Promote and lead in ITV’s agile delivery community, sharing knowledge and experiences to help build capabilities across the organisation.
Minimum role criteria:
- Must have extensive experience leading technology transformation programmes and managing large-scale delivery portfolios.
- Confidence in synthesising and presenting key information from multiple product groups to senior leadership.
- Well-versed in building trust and coaching teams toward self-management and cross-functional behaviours.
- Broad knowledge of various agile frameworks, methods and good practices.
- Capable of managing work and dependencies across multiple internal and external partner teams.
- Experience of using empiricism to drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, predictability and workflow efficiency.
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholder demands.
Desirable
- Knowledge of interconnected disciplines, such as product management, product design & engineering.
- Experience or understanding of scaling agile practices in medium to large organisations.
- Leading and inspiring other agilists as a line manager.
- Knowledge of video streaming technologies.
