Overview

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior AI Architect to join Royal London’s Group Data & AI Office Team. Reporting into the Enterprise Data Architect, you will be responsible for enabling implementation of AI solutions that solve complex business challenges. You will work across large scale AI, data & digital transformation programmes, collaborating closely with enterprise architects, data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define and evolve AI architecture.

The Group Data & AI Office (GDAO) is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of data and AI use across Royal London.  Our strategy at Royal London is to become an insight-led modern mutual, growing sustainably through deepening customer relationships. We want to use data, analytics and AI to offer timely, relevant, personalised guidance and support to deepen customer relationships and ultimately, increase their financial resilience. 

About the Role

• Lead on and develop enterprise-scale advanced AI and machine learning architecture solutions for Royal London’s financial solutions
• Define AI roadmaps, frameworks, and reference architectures that deliver on our business goals
• Ensure AI solutions are robust, compliant, and aligned with Royal London’s responsible and ethical AI and data principles
• Drive innovation with your expertise on emerging AI technologies and how they support Royal London’s purpose
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed AI capabilities across our organisation
• Work closely with our Architecture, Data, AI, Group Technology and Digital squads and functions to ensure alignment
• Democratise AI by building strong relationships with our value stream stakeholders, understanding their challenges and acting as a champion of AI solutions

About You

• Extensive experience of designing and scaling effective AI/ML architecture solutions
• Deep understanding of cloud capabilities including key platforms Azure (preferred), DataBricks (preferred), and AWS
• Proven ability to deliver AI architecture solutions within cross-functional teams, governance forums, and as part of an enterprise architecture community
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear, strategic communication
• Hands-on experience with AI architecture of LLMs and use of responsible AI frameworks is desirable
• Experience of delivering AI architecture is essential - within UK Financial Services or other regulated industries is desirable
