- Support team in the delivery of reconciliation controls to ensure FCF is paramount in daily tasks in order to maintain minimal operational losses.
- Drive the team to create efficiencies across all reconciliation processes working across functions where required.
- Support Reconciliation Manager in the daily, weekly & monthly review of key performance metrics to understand where reconciliation risks lie and provide support to resolve.
- Become an SME in all Finance Operations Reconciliation processes, provide support to business for queries and process information.
- Develop an in depth understanding into the month end Finance Operations reconciliation balance sheet review, showing a clear understanding of items and balances outstanding.
- Ensure completion of monthly General Ledger reconciliations in accordance with NewDay reconciliation policy.
- Develop a close working relationship with the Finance Systems team to ensure the administration of the reconciliation tool ReconNet is developed & maintained to drive highest possible automated match rates.
- Take responsibility to ensure the training, motivation and development of the reconciliation team are fully supported taking in the lead to ensure team members are skilled across all NewDay platforms and reconciliation types for the D2C\MO Brands and Loans.
- Work with the Reconciliation Manager to drive forward solutions to reconciliation issues using network of contacts to work effectively across external teams ensuring resolution in a timely manner.
- Work with the Incident management team to provide support for issue resolution utilising contacts within NewDay and our External partners.
- Become a Key point of contact for resolution of complex queries and issues arising from other Operational & Finance areas.
- Support the Senior Reconciliation Manager in the successful delivery of FCF within the Operational Finance Team, ensuring delivery of monthly Controls and continuous assessment.
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the build and configuration of the Reconciliation Tool ReconNet.
- Support UAT and Live proving testing for any upcoming new projects.
- Foster & maintain excellent working relationships within NewDay operational & Finance teams and with our external partners
- Develop and maintain key relationships with senior Finance management team to ensure escalation of issues as appropriate.
Your Skills and Experience
- 5+ years experience in a financial reconciliation environment.
- Ability to simplify complex issues and prepare resolution plans
- Ability to see & map end to end processes.
- Ability to develop cross function relationships
- Ability to influence non-Finance colleagues.
- Strong numeric skills and the ability to process and interpret large volumes of data.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of clearing bank processes, including BACS, Faster payments, Direct Debits & Debit Card
- Detailed knowledge of Bank & cash Book reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of SUN General Ledger and ReconNet applications.
- Detailed knowledge of the build and configuration of the Reconciliation Tool ReconNet.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide group within the business, building a level of mutual trust and respect, which can be used to influence and agree process improvements.
- Takes accountability and supports team to an effective resolution of aged items and issues.
