Brief Description
Join a critical team at the heart of railway technology and infrastructure. We’re looking for a Senior Asset Engineer (Support) [CIS & CCTV], to bring expertise and leadership in Customer/Passenger Information Systems (CIS) and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) across our Region, keeping our assets running smoothly – and performing at their best.
About The Role (External)
What you’ll be doing:
As the Senior Asset Engineer for CIS & CCTV, you’ll provide comprehensive asset management and systems engineering support, working closely with the Regional Telecoms Asset & Performance Manager and Route Teams. You’ll help to keep our communications and surveillance infrastructure reliable, safe, and forward-thinking.
You’ll:
- Define and support maintenance regimes for CIS & CCTV assets, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Provide expert systems engineering guidance and support across routes and delivery units.
- Conduct technical briefings and promote understanding of standards across teams.
- Evaluate and recommend changes regarding non-compliance applications.
- Review performance and condition of assets, contributing to the renewals programme.
- Lead initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
- Support maintenance audits, engineering verification, and incident investigations.
- Influence the development of updated standards and policies.
What you’ll bring:
- A solid background in systems engineering within telecoms or rail infrastructure.
- Experience with CIS and CCTV assets in a complex operational environment.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Confidence in providing technical leadership and mentoring.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical insights clearly.

Salary: Band 3C (£55,596- £65,966) plus a Location Allowance of £3,270.
