DWF are seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute and experienced Senior Associate or Legal Director level to join our market-leading Dispute Resolution team in Manchester.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex, high-value litigation and advisory matters across a range of sectors, including commercial contracts, corporate disputes (i.e. warranty, earn out and other “deal” related disputes), director and shareholder claims (in particular, unfair prejudice claims), public procurement and regulatory disputes..
Whilst the team operates as national structure team supporting the wider DWF Regional offices throughout the UK, this role is based in our Manchester office with a minimum 2 days per week attendance in the office required.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- On the right level of case, lead and manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters; otherwise being the day-to-day lead on larger/more complex matters under Partner supervision.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients, including public authorities, corporates, individuals and regulated entities.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Take ownership of day-to-day case management, including disclosure, interim applications, and client reporting.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including client pitches, thought leadership, and networking.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Key Experience And Skills
- 8+ years PQE with a strong background in commercial litigation.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale disclosure exercises and complex procedural applications.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to mentoring and team development.
- It would be helpful, but it is not essential, to have experience in procurement disputes and/or judicial review.
