About the team you’ll be part of
Ofcom’s Economics and Analytics Group is a forward-looking, international team of around 120 applied microeconomists, data analysts, behavioural economists and finance experts.
As experts in evidence-based analysis, we help Ofcom by providing thought leadership, technical and sector expertise, and the economic and financial insights needed to shape policy and decisions.
Within the Economics & Analytics Group, the Financial Analytics team provides financial advice and insight, forensic accounting, and modelling expertise to projects across Ofcom. Our colleagues provide support across all the sectors we regulate (telecoms, post, broadcasting, and online services).
The purpose and scope of the role
As an Economic and Financial Modelling Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality economic and financial analysis to support Ofcom’s policy and regulatory functions. You will develop, review, and manage economic and financial models that inform key decisions across a range of sectors, including telecoms, broadcasting, radio spectrum, postal services, and online platforms.
You will work closely with colleagues from multi-disciplinary teams, engage with external stakeholders, and ensure that Ofcom’s decisions are based on sound economic reasoning and robust financial evidence. The scope of the role includes but is not limited to:
