Position Overview:
The Senior Finance Associate–Transaction Services represents a challenging and dynamic opportunity working directly with our investment teams across multiple sectors in a global private equity firm.
You will take charge of tax structuring, funds flow and other deal workflows, with exposure to complex deals and entity structures.
This role will work closely with Big 4 firms and tax lawyers on all European investments and some Asian investments. Working alongside our investment team, debt capital markets team and Boston internal finance and operations teams, this role will have a hand in the success of our European investments and drive the continuing improvement of our processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Respond to LP data and information requests, eventually becoming the primary owner of this workstream.
- Work with external advisors on tax-efficient structuring for new platform and add-on acquisitions in Europe and Asia, as well as dividend recapitalisations, management incentive plans (MIPs), group reorganisations and exits.
- Coordinate and review tax due diligence (TDD) and structuring reports prepared by external advisors.
- Lead on tax aspects of fund flows with the various stakeholders.
- Design and assess tax implications of transaction structures in collaboration with TA’s Luxembourg team and advisors, focusing on efficient topside structuring.
- Ensure alignment with US tax requirements, including PFIC classification and CTB elections etc
- Support ongoing tax optimisation initiatives across the portfolio in collaboration with the Strategic Resource Group (SRG).
- Engage proactively with external advisors and internal teams to track changes in European, Asian, and global tax legislation (including BEPS, Pillar 2, etc.).
- Work closely with TA’s capital markets and US finance teams on financing, restructuring, and refinancing transactions.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic credentials
- 3–4 years of relevant tax experience, ideally from a Big 4 firm and/or in-house at a private equity or investment firm.
- ACA/CTA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong technical background in cross-border tax structuring, transaction tax, and international corporate tax.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Luxembourg holding company structures and associated tax planning.
- Knowledge of US international tax concepts relevant to a US-headquartered fund (CTB elections, PFIC).
- Experience across Europe and Asia, with strong regional awareness of local tax environments
- Strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and advise non-tax professionals
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; confident in dealing with senior management and external advisors
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, cross-border team.
