Senior/Lead Auditor - Nuclear Sector

Role Overview

As an Auditor in the Nuclear sector, you will play an important role in verifying and assessing management systems within the Nuclear sector. Working independently or as part of a team, you will ensure that our clients’ systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.


You will act as a subject matter expert, contributing to the continuous improvement of client systems and the development of LRQA’s services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of client management systems against ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.
  • Assess the implementation and effectiveness of Nuclear sector quality management systems.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clients for system improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of service and trust.
  • Support the development and enhancement of LRQA’s Nuclear assurance services.
  • Travel to client sites across the UK as required.


Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in the Nuclear sector, ideally in auditing, quality assurance, or compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing quality systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • UK-based with a valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
  • RQA or IRCA auditor certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
