Job Title – Senior AWS Platform Engineer (Kubernetes or Build & Release)

Clearance Required – SC clearance required

Location – UK Remote

Contract Length – 12 months (with scope to extend)

We are seeking a Senior AWS Platform Engineer with strong expertise in either Kubernetes platform engineering or CI/CD build and release engineering.

This role focuses on building and operating secure, scalable AWS platforms that enable teams to deliver applications reliably and efficiently.

Specialism A: Kubernetes Platform Engineering

(You will focus here if Kubernetes is your primary strength)

Design, build, and operate Kubernetes platforms using Amazon EKS
Implement best practices for cluster security, networking, upgrades, high availability, and disaster recovery
Support multi-environment Kubernetes platforms (dev, test, prod)
Implement GitOps patterns using tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
Enable observability for Kubernetes workloads (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace)
Support containerisation using Docker, Podman, or OpenShift

Specialism B: Build & Release / CI/CD Engineering

(You will focus here if build and release is your primary strength)

Design and operate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for containerised applications
Integrate SonarQube to enforce code quality and quality gates
Manage JFrog Artifactory for artifact storage, versioning, and dependency management
Implement secure release, rollback, and deployment strategies
Monitor and optimise pipeline performance and reliability
