Your mission
Littledata has a respected product among Shopify merchants, agencies and other tech partners, and we plan to take this to the next level - building the next generation data pipeline for ecommerce.
As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll be instrumental in shaping our technical architecture and development practices. You'll work closely with our Core team to accelerate development of our data pipeline and core integrations, while bringing fresh perspectives to our engineering culture and processes.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs that power our data pipeline
- Mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical decision-making
- Help evolve our development practices, from code quality standards to deployment processes, ensuring we maintain high velocity while scaling
- Work closely with product managers, QA, and other developers in a cross-functional team to ship features that delight customers
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to ensure our data processing remains fast and reliable as we scale
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with modern languages (Node.js, Python, or similar)
- Strong experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar) and data processing at scale
- Proven track record of building and maintaining API products
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Strong communication skills and experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
- Ideally based in UK; remote work from elsewhere in the EU is possible
Bonus points
- Experience with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) or marketing technology integrations
- Background in data engineering, ETL processes, or analytics platforms
- Previous experience mentoring developers or contributing to technical strategy
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
