Job Description
Costain is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Bid Manager to join our Natural Resources Division Work Winning team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the bid process to secure new projects and opportunities for the company. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a highly skilled team and contribute to the growth and success of Costain.
Responsibilities
- Bid Leadership: Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring the submission of high-quality, competitive, and compliant bids.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement winning bid strategies, aligning with the company's goals and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and subcontractors, to gather necessary information and build strong relationships.
- Team Management: Line management of bid managers, mentorship and guidance to bid team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with bids, developing mitigation plans to address potential challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all bid submissions meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance with client and Costain governance requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate bid performance, implementing lessons learned and best practices to enhance future bids.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on bid progress, outcomes, and key metrics.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, or a related field. Minimum of seven years of experience in bid management, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors, either from a professional services or contracting background. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., APMP) is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary bid teams, delivering successful outcomes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Project and Bid Management: Proficiency in project and bid management methodologies and tools, ensuring effective planning and execution of bid activities.
- Client Focus: Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and develop tailored solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
