Description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support one of our key clients. This is a hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Cheshire, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal part in a major, multi‑year transformation programme.

The programme will transition critical operations, people, data, and technology in‑house. A significant part of this programme involves a large‑scale data migration, including the movement of high‑volume policy data, operational information, and workflow‑related data to new strategic platforms. The successful BA will help define the data‑migration requirements, ensure clarity across business processes, and support a smooth transition into new systems.

This role is ideal for a Senior BA with strong analytical capability, excellent stakeholder engagement, and experience working in complex change environments.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of medium to large‑scale change initiatives, defining scope and expected benefits with minimal guidance.
Lead and facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, process mapping, and current/target‑state analysis.

Work closely with business and technology teams to ensure data‑migration requirements are fully understood, documented, and aligned with programme objectives.

Analyse processes and data sets, presenting clear, well‑considered solution options.

Produce high‑quality analysis documentation with accurate traceability and alignment to standards.

Define user acceptance criteria and support UAT phases.

Conduct peer reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of BA methodologies.

Build strong stakeholder relationships and proactively drive engagement across teams.

About You

Experienced Senior BA able to work independently and coach others when required.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate in fast‑paced environments.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across business and technical teams.
Highly organised with a delivery‑focused mindset.
Strong data‑analysis skills.
Experience in data migration, platform migrations, or large‑scale transitions is a significant advantage.
