Brief Description
The post holder is responsible for analysing and developing Network Rail wide business processes and embedding reporting enhancements. Improve control and flow of data / information throughout the business and support the requirements of the Senior Executive Board. Gather the requirements, lead the design and implementation to drive improved and consistent reporting across Network Rail
About The Role (External)
- Lead business requirements into technical specification and solutions to improve data and reporting robustness and accessibility through more efficient working.
- Lead the design, build and deployment of business intelligence reports and dashboards, including using artificial intelligence tools to support portfolio, programme and projects.
- Develop and provide technical support, advice and guidance to the functional leadership on best use of reporting systems so they can work efficiently.
- Promote the use of best practice tools and processes across the business.
- Act as the delegated design authority, work across Business Review Team and wider stakeholder groups, to develop and deploy end to end corporate processes that support effective flow and control of information across Network Rail.
- Develop unambiguous, complete and consistent business-wide requirements specifications to support implementation and transition to new ways of working
- Engage with stakeholders and relevant subject matter experts to identify, collate and understand the detailed business requirements behind an identified business problem or opportunity
- Analyse and document current processes, workflows and information exchanges to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of service portfolio management
- Analyse and interpret the impact new requirements will have on business operations and design and document the new business processes needed
Essential
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Highly skilled in report creation through Power BI Desktop and Excel and ideally VBA
- Good working knowledge in; DAX, Power Query and Apps
- Extensive demonstrable knowledge of information technologies and systems
- Proven strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Substantial successful experience of extracting information and reporting from multiple data sources.
- Strongly skilled in MS Office but specifically; Powerpoint, SharePoint
- Proven ability to coordinate at multiple levels and provide great customer service.
- Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills
- Demonstrable successful experience of challenging self and others to improve services and approaches.
- Demonstrable ability to work proactively through complex issues.
- Comfortable to challenge seniority and existing processes.
- An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
Desirable
An understanding of the railway industry, its key business processes and interfaces
