The Senior Business Development Manager – Northern Region will play a central role in shaping and delivering the Northern business unit’s growth strategy. Responsible for identifying, qualifying, and progressing high-value infrastructure opportunities, this individual will help build a robust, client-aligned pipeline across the region.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across Northern England in line with regional and national strategy.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key client decision-makers, influencers, and strategic consultants in the North.
- Support the implementation of STRABAG’s Key Client account Management programme in the Northern region, working closely with national account leads.
- Work closely within the central Growth & Strategy team to align business development activity with national initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to the Business Unit Director – North and Growth & Strategy Director on pipeline progress, client activity, and market shifts.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in business development, work-winning, or client-facing roles within a Tier 1 infrastructure contractor.
- Strong existing network of clients, consultants, and influencers relevant to regional infrastructure (e.g., mining, utilities, transport – rail and highways, water, energy).
- Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, from early market shaping through to bid submission.
- Proven ability to engage and influence at senior levels within client organisations.
- Sound understanding of major procurement routes (including frameworks, DPC, and ECI models).
