As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the nursing team by helping to implement care plans and ensuring high standards of care for all service users. While the nursing team leads the development of Care Plans in line with best practice (e.g. NICE guidelines) for service users requiring nursing care, youll be responsible for ensuring these plans are effectively implemented. You will work closely with the ward manager, nursing team and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth running of the service.
Main duties of the job
Youll be actively involved in coordinating daily shift activities, supervising junior colleagues, and ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Additionally, youll take the lead in creating and maintaining care plans for service users who do not require nursing input.
Able to maintain professional boundaries with service users Experience in IT systems Experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team Experience of working sensitively with service users, carers and relatives Demonstrable experience working as a Care Assistant in an inpatient environment

- Previous experience of supporting people living with dementia and writing care plans
- To operate within self-assessed competence

- Can demonstrate clear evidence of continued professional development
Qualifications
- A good standard of education, NVQ level 2 or equivalent
