About The Role

Are you an enthusiastic, reliable and customer focused individual?

Would you like to be a part of a very busy and demanding service that is highly rewarding? The Housing Adaptation Service designs, delivers and supports people through the complex process of Disabled Facilities Grants. We are now seeking a Senior Case Management Officer to support, monitor and deliver cases through the grant process and manage a small team of Case Officers.

If so, this could be the role for you!

You will be responsible for overseeing and approving grant applications, checking means testing outcomes and ensuring cases are dealt with within a timely and efficient manner.

The role will involve working closely with Surveyors and Occupational Therapists, therefore knowledge surrounding Part M of the Building Regulations & Social Care Act 2014 is required along with experience working in a housing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of Case Officers, therefore experience in managing people is required with this role.

As the role is customer focused, you will be expected to visit residents in their own home, liaise with other support services and ensure detailed records are kept up to date within the Case Management system.

You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of the Housing, Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996, The Regulatory Reform Order 2002 and The Housing Renewal Grants Regulations 1996.

You will be joining us at a pivotal stage as we start to role out a new Housing Assistance Policy.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

Whilst working predominantly within the Housing Adaptation Service, the role sits within the wider Specialist Housing Management Service and will see the post holder working in partnership with Housing, Housing Management, Development, Asset Management, Social Care & Sheltered Housing.

About You

Ideally you will have experience of working in a similar environment/service and delivering on partnership working.

You’ll be a ‘people person’ with the ability to communicate key messages effectively and be able to deal with demanding and challenging situations.

You’ll have knowledge / experience in Safeguarding, Adaptations and Housing Management.

You’ll have experience in Housing Management services, e.g. Building safety, compliance, Part M of the Building Regulations, Building Control & Planning Regulations.

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Housing, Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996.

Have experience in managing a team.

You’re good at problem solving and delivering an effective and inclusive customer focused service.
