Essential:
- Proactive and Client focused Engineer

The ideal candidate should have:
- An engineering degree and be chartered or sitting review within 12 months (ICE/IstructE)
- A minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant experience in a design environment.
- Experience with Rail Buildings & Civils experience (anyone with platforms, canopies, drainage, maintenance delivery units, retaining walls, embankments, cuttings, etc. would be of interest
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Project management experience including project scoping, coordinating design activities, contractual and financial management
- Experience of management of teams of up to 2-4 people
- Experience of working on multiple concurrent and multi-discipline commissions
- Experience in representing the company to clients and working with a range of project stakeholders
- An innovative outlook and be looking to use and further develop technical and business skills to match the growing needs of the business
- Work Winning in a Client facing role
- Driving licence
- Sentinel Track Safety - PTS holder
- Familiar with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation) software.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects.
- Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensuring technical compliance.
- Oversee and review engineering calculations, reports, and specifications.
- Manage aspects of project delivery and technical reviews, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
- Manage project budgets and preparation of tenders/fee proposals, timelines, and client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and supervision to other engineers and foster technical development within the team.
- Participate in business development by supporting proposal writing and technical submissions.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful execution.
- Site work, overnight or weekend work may be required.
The successful candidate will report to Croydon Office and work closely with discipline heads based in the other MHB offices in York, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
