Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Senior Client Director to join our market leading DC team. You will have personal responsibility for the management, retention, long term development and growth of a book of DC pension clients, including some of the largest, most complex and strategically important clients for Legal & General. This is a senior role in which the job holder must be able to work independently of any management team support to build and develop long term strategic partnerships.
What you'll be doing:
- Establishing and developing strong relationships with key decision makers across your strategic client portfolio, understanding the tactical and strategic goals of those businesses in order to meet all client objectives. Ensuring long term partnerships for L&G with these business-critical organisations and in turn supporting the achievement of DC targets and ambitions
- Personally taking ownership for the retention strategy when a strategic client is identified as ‘at risk’, working as part of the DC senior team to take appropriate action to ensure the client is retained and the relationship further strengthened for the longer term
- Proactively ensuring that all new business, profitable restructure and cross-selling opportunities are identified and progressed in a timely manner, ensuring maximisation of sales penetration and market share, longer term strategic client retention and further development
- As a senior member of the DC Client Team, participating in the setting of and latterly, personally ensuring delivery of growth targets across the strategically important portfolios, ensuring the continued success of the division and work with the Client Directors and Senior Client Relationship Executives on their own portfolios, supporting their development
- Supporting and attending new business opportunities at critical tender, beauty parade and site visit stages. Working with colleagues in DC Sales to share client experience/trends/views, thereby supporting the expansion of our relationship with the UK’s most significant DC intermediary consultants
- Leading engagement with other areas (Product, Client Communications, Change, Operations), ensuring your strategic clients continue to have available to them an appropriate range of products and services. Ensuring the long-term delivery of DC targets and growth strategy. Using your judgement in ensuring that this activity is balanced with the other needs of the DC business and of other strategically important clients. Personally taking ownership on behalf of DC Distribution for product and proposition developments as required
- As part of consumer duty, ensuring our clients have been provided with sufficient information to make an informed decision
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience and knowledge of DC product solutions and marketplace
- Corporate client relationship management experience in a product provider, asset manager or EBC/significant intermediary
- Understanding of investments, able to articulate at a high-level the performance of the funds
- Understanding of administrative/operational matters in relation to DC pension plans
- Demonstrable communication/presentation skills – previous client facing meeting and presentational experience is a requirement, as is the ability to articulate and convey information in a clear and compelling manner in writing and in person.
- Professional qualifications in relation to the role are desirable for example PMI, Certificate in Financial Planning, IMC
- Ability to listen to client issues, understanding their challenges and leveraging L&G DC to address/resolve these issues
