Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Coder to join our Northern Care Alliance (NCA) Clinical Coding Team.
At the NCA you'll code activity across one of the widest ranges of specialities of any NHS trust -- from obstetrics and paediatrics to spinal, neurosurgery, vascular, major trauma and many more. Few trusts can match this variety nationally, offering you an exceptional opportunity to expand your coding expertise and take on new challenges every day.
We are seeking experienced accredited clinical coders with proven experience coding across multiple specialities who hold the National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC).
What We Offer:
- Flexibility - hybrid working (home and office-based across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale sites) or fully remote working where appropriate.
- Breadth of experience - exposure to one of the widest case mixes in the NHS, enabling you to continually develop and expand your coding skills.
- Career growth - clear progression pathways and strong support for internal promotion into more senior roles.
- Community - a collaborative, supportive department within one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country.
If you are an ambitious clinical coder with multi-speciality experience and a passion for high-quality data, we'd love to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Coder (Band 5) at NCA, you will:
- Use your expertise to code a wide range of activity, from high volume routine day cases to the most challenging of specialist activity, always ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple hospital sites as part of a large, supportive department.
- Share your expertise by mentoring and guiding less experienced coders, helping to build team capability.
- Play an active role in continuous improvement, contributing ideas and supporting the development of our coding service.
