Job Overview
The Senior Clinical Engineer works in the Clinical Engineering section of the Medical Physics & Bioengineering Department. The role has responsibility for contributing to the work of a team delivering a range of specialist clinical, scientific and engineering support for the activities of the hospital.
Main duties of the job
This role will undertake wide range of activities in the area of clinical engineering and physiological studies. This might include engineering design and development work in pursuit of aspects of instrumentation and scientific development. They will gain expertise as they assist the Trust’s expert on the scientific aspects and clinical impacts of non-ionising radiation including phototherapy and ultraviolet light, as well as electromagnetic fields and sound.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good honour degree in engineering or physical science
- Engineering Council registered
Desirable criteria
- Corporate member of IPEM
- Registered for a nationally accredited CPD scheme
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of clinical, scientific and engineering aspects of a wide range of electromedical equipment
- To perform GI manometry independently
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Engineering design

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
