An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join a team dedicated to the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of medical devices, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding complex information to staff at all levels, including consultants, nurse managers, nurses, healthcare professionals, and suppliers. They will also deliver a high-quality, rapid response service for patient-connected medical devices. Additional responsibilities will include offering repair services for highly complex and specialized medical devices at the component level. This work requires thorough analysis and interpretation, utilizing state-of-the-art technology. - To work under own initiative and organise complex programs of work as part of a team, but often working alone in isolated environments.
- To work following the departmental ISO 9001 quality system.
- Ensure all servicing tools and test equipment are functional and organise repair and maintenance as required.
- To participate as required in overtime duties.
- To participate in an out-of-hours emergency on call service.
- Examples of the types of medical devices are lasers, ultrasound, gamma cameras, anaesthetic machines, ventilators, renal dialysis and other types of complex life support devices.
- As there is direct patient contact and the post holder will work in environments where patients are undergoing treatment or in a patient's home, confidentiality is paramount.
- Participation in ‘in house and external courses and seminars
- Undertake continuing professional development, maintain a professional portfolio and to have a commitment to the training and development of other professional colleagues.
