The post holder would take part in the General Paediatric and neonatology acute rota.
The rota is EWTD (European Working Time Directive) compliant.
Two middle grade full-shift rotas run: one team covering the Hippos /A&E/ ward area with the other team covering the NICU/ labour ward.
3 Community SpRs from the Greenwich & Bexley Community Paediatric teams participate in the acute on-call rotas.
The First on call Paediatric Team consists of a mix of ST1 Paediatric Trainees, GPVTS trainees (mainly from the Greenwich and Bexley schemes) together with FY2 trainees.
- Responsibility, in rotation with others, for the Neonatal unit, Ambulatory unitor Children’s Ward, alternating with the other middle grade doctors.
- Seeing Children on request in the A&E department. Regular attendance and active participation in outpatient clinics.
Participation in overall supervision and education of resident doctors and medical students. Taking an active part in the department’s education program.
