The appointee will join the Paediatric team at middle grade level, rotating between General Paediatrics and Neonates. The appointee will take part in outpatient clinics under the supervision of the consultant team and supervise the work of the junior trainees. Working patterns and timetables will be equivalent to those expected of the training grade registrars. This includes normal day work, weekends and nights.
- Managing paediatric patients throughout their hospital stay
- Delivering care to Newborns in the Neonatal Services
- Delivering care to the NICU/SCBU, labour ward & post-natal
- Assessment of referred babies
- The review of all babies as needed
- Supervising Foundation doctors
- Review of protocols as part of the team
- The appointee will be expected to work flexible across the service as required, as and when service needs change
- To take part in outpatient clinics under the supervision of the Consultant Paediatricians
- To participate in the department’s teaching, audit and educational activities
