In this role, you’ll work closely with a Pharmacist to support the ED and the newly opened FAU —playing a vital role in patient flow and medicines management.

Key deliverables of the Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician role within Emergency Medicine will include:
- Undertake medication histories and medicines reconciliation, prioritising patients on time critical medications, patients with medicine related admissions (e.g. falls) and patients that have been in A&E for a long period of time
- Assessing patients own medicines
- Ordering of non-stock time critical medicines using our electronic ordering system
- Undertake accuracy checking of ‘Take Home Prescriptions’ & critical medicines
- Gain consent for the discharge medicines service process (DMS)
- Assisting with relevant audits (Controlled drugs, fridge monitoring and any excursion issues)
- Assisting with clinical incident management & implementing actions to help prevent re-occurrence - linking in with Quality Nurses
