Senior Cloud Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Cloud/AWS Engineer to take ownership of a modern cloud platform for a fast-growing, well-funded startup operating at the intersection of AI, compliance, and fintech.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll architect, scale, and secure the AWS infrastructure that underpins an ambitious product roadmap. You’ll drive automation, champion platform reliability, and enable seamless developer workflows in a remote-first, engineering-led environment.
Salary: Up to £130,000
Location: Remote first (occasional meetups in London)

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the evolution of AWS infrastructure into a production-ready, scalable, and secure platform.
- Build robust automation pipelines and self-service tooling to empower engineering teams.
- Drive a zero-trust security approach and embed strong compliance principles from the ground up.
- Support continuous delivery practices, enabling safe, high-frequency deployments.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, and tech leadership.
What You’ll Bring:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with AWS at scale.
- Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and platform automation.
- Proven track record using tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and regulatory compliance (e.g. SOC 2).
- A passion for building systems that are elegant, reliable, and easy to maintain.
- A proactive, curious mindset and a desire to improve how teams work, not just what they build.
- AWS certifications are a plus but not essential.
Tech Stack:
- Cloud & Infra: AWS ECS, PostgreSQL, Kafka (migrating from RabbitMQ), Terraform
- CI/CD: GitHub-based tooling
- Backend: Nest.js, FastAPI (Python), LangChain
- Frontend: React
- Testing: Pact, Jest, Cypress, Pytest (including AI-driven automation)
