Description

The Senior Commercial Consultant role offers a great opportunity to apply your commercial expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive meaningful change within the NHS. At Attain – the largest independent health advisory and delivery organisation in the UK – we empower passionate, values driven professionals to make a real difference in healthcare delivery and outcomes.

The NHS is entering a significant period of change as the landscape is reset in preparation for delivery of the 10-year plan and longer-term reform of the NHS. The change is underpinned by a need for the NHS to both think and act more commercially regarding the way it is structured, the way services are delivered, contracts managed, efficiencies are identified and importantly delivered. Fundamentally this will lead to a new Accountable Care operating model for the NHS.

The recent spending review, although positive for the NHS in relation to overall budget did set out an annualised 2% cost improvement target for the NHS.

In our Senior Commercial Consultant role, you’ll collaborate with NHS customers and healthcare organisations to design and deliver large scale complex projects. You’ll apply your commercial and leadership skills to deliver projects and programmes that achieve sustainable change and enhanced outcomes for patients, communities and teams.

We are looking for commercial professionals who have significant experience of working within the Public Sector and specifically the NHS. You’ll have a background in public sector procurement and or contracting. It would be advantageous if you have private sector commercial experience.

The environment is often challenging, fast paced and dynamic and organisations can be in a turnaround which creates a high pressurised working environment. Your experience of delivering significant tangible financial savings in year and over a longer period will be a key enabler to your success in this role.

This role will require you to lead others on a regular basis providing knowledge, insight and direction. You could be leading a whole Attain team or a partnership team made up of Attain staff and NHS staff.
