About The Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven
Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a variety of projects in the portfolio.
You’ll act as the key commercial interface between project teams and senior leadership, ensuring robust governance, effective risk management, and strong financial performance. This is a pivotal role in delivering commercial excellence and supporting our continued success across the region.
What you'll be doing
- Take full commercial responsibility for major construction projects, ensuring delivery against margin, cashflow and risk objectives.
- Lead and develop commercial teams to drive best practice, innovation, and value recovery.
- Oversee subcontractor management, value engineering, and commercial performance to maximise project returns.
- Provide accurate forecasting, margin analysis and commercial reporting for internal reviews.
- Ensure full compliance with Balfour Beatty’s governance processes and Minimum Commercial Expectations.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders – including customers, suppliers and consultants – to achieve commercial excellence.
- Support bid management, tender reviews, and commercial audits as required.
- Promote our Zero Harm and Sustainability principles throughout all activities.
Who we're looking for
- A strong background in commercial management within the construction industry.
- Proven experience leading commercial teams and managing major project portfolios.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A results-driven approach with the ability to navigate complex commercial challenges.
- Professional qualifications such as MRICS or MCIOB (preferred but not essential).
