Role: Compliance Senior Associate (Fixed-Term Contract)

Sector: Private Credit / Alternative Investment Management

Location: London (4 days per week in office - 1 from home)

Key info: This is a broad reaching compliance generalist role. Experience working either as the sole UK compliance professional in a global Credit Investment house or as the lead or level below in a UK centered smaller Credit Investment house would be highly valued.

Our client is one of Europe’s leading private credit providers, managing nearly $20 billion in assets for a global base of sophisticated institutional investors.

The Legal, Compliance, and Governance team operates as a high-impact in-house function, providing comprehensive regulatory and advisory support to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Associate will support the day-to-day execution of the compliance programme, with a focus on:

Regulatory Reporting: Handling FCA and other critical regulatory filings (including REP-CRIM).
Policy Governance: Managing the compliance manual and ensuring internal policies remain current and effective.

Onboarding & KYC: Overseeing initial and periodic Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for investors, borrowers, and counterparties.

Monitoring & Audits: Executing the compliance monitoring plan (scoping and testing) and preparing the firm for internal/external audits and operational due diligence.

Operational Oversight: Reviewing and approving registers for conflicts of interest, personal account dealing, outside business interests, and corporate hospitality.

Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Reviewing and implementing new regulatory requirements as they arise.

Culture & Training: Organizing compliance training for new joiners and existing staff, while managing the annual declaration process.

Requirements

Experience: Ideally 5+ years of relevant compliance experience within the financial services sector (Private Credit, Private Equity, or Asset Management preferred).
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Finance, Business, Economics, or Law.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for internal stakeholder management.
Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
