What’s The Opportunity
As a member of the planning & scheduling team, you will support clients and colleagues in the successful delivery of projects across a variety of sectors ranging from construction and civil engineering to hi-tech and manufacturing. We support Customers across multiple industries, all of whom face project uncertainty, programme challenges and change. Your role is to bring certainty to a project and ensure that the Customer success criteria are fully recognised.
We are looking for a Project Scheduler to join our team and drive successful projects that meet and exceed the Customer requirements. In this role, you will develop strategic schedules, develop existing schedules into an IMS, update and monitor schedules and provide strategic oversight, interrogate submitted schedules, identify critical path activities and develop mitigation plans to reduce risk and maintain programme, and develop reports to support the client and team requirements. You will partner closely with our project management and cost management and PMO teams to deliver solutions that exceed the customer expectations.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
- Develop, monitor and update owners Project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Establish the schedule management program and deliverables to be used on large scale capital programs.
- Ensure that schedules are compliant with Contract requirements.
- Review and interrogate contractor submitted schedules and provide detailed analysis.
- Interface with project stakeholders as a trusted advisor to provide guidance and recommendations for the project.
- Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams.
- Conduct schedule resource loading and levelling.
- Incorporate contractor and supplier schedules into an IMS and establish activity relationships and workstream interdependencies.
- Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and ensure that the project team have visibility.
- Monitor schedule deviations and variances.
- Work with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Conduct schedule cost loading and ongoing updates.
- Apply EVM methodology to measure project progress and performance against agreed baseline.
- Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
- Develop ‘what-if’ schedules to model potential scenarios and provide stakeholders with strategic advice.
- Undertake delay analysis and provide supporting reports.
- Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
- Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
- Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
- Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all projects stages.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
Applicants should be proficient in the use of Oracle P6, Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project.
Previous construction experience is beneficial.
