Description
Are you passionate about delivering the high-quality content that people need?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented Senior Content Designer to join our User-Centred Design team to support digital products and services in the Primary, Community and Mental Health directorate.

As a Senior Content Designer who is user-centred, you will specialise in making things easy for people to understand and use by designing how content is structured. Using evidence, you will design the content users need at every point in their journey - for example a digital application form, navigation elements, button text, error messages, emails and letters.

Putting users' needs at the heart of your work, you will make people's interactions with our products and services as simple as possible.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Content Designer you will be responsible for creating, evaluating, updating and reviewing content at all stages of the end-to-end user journey. At this role level, you will:

  • Act as a lead specialist in your own area, using your judgement to make decisions and to coach and mentor others in your profession, both within the team and in the wider Community of Practice.
  • Take responsibility for content quality, mentoring content colleagues.
  • Review the work of others to assure quality.
  • Lead on content projects.
  • Engage with and contribute to the User-Centred Design community.
  • Advise and coordinate staff in a one-one/small or large group basis, within the service.
  • Deliver through others, and direct and critique their work.
  • Guide others and make recommendations on the best tools and methods to use.
  • Take responsibility for assuring the quality of content from more junior colleagues, and coach and guide them to improve.
  • Understand and demonstrate awareness of Agile methodology and apply an Agile mindset to your work.
  • Work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery.
  • Be unafraid to take risks and willing to learn from mistakes.
  • Plan and organise a broad range of complex content design activities that need to be adjusted based on conflicting stakeholder / business needs.
