In this role you will help achieve the growth strategy of the GB Retirement practice by working on diverse projects, including providing corporate and project based advice for our clients.

The candidate will promote growth across all GB Retirement services, establish relationships with senior individuals across clients and target market organizations, and maintain regular dialogue with them.

At Willis Towers Watson, you’ll benefit from the resources and opportunities of a large company while preserving individuality. You will work with a variety of colleagues, including leading figures in the pensions industry, and receive recognition for your personal contributions.

The Role

  • For each of your engagements, you will either lead the relationship and delivery of the work or act as a credible alternative to the lead consultant(s).
  • You will be able to hit the ground running developing and presenting strategic advice and reviewing many aspects of the client work. You will be responsible for managing a team of more junior consultants on large, complex clients and projects.
  • We work with diverse clients, involving both trustee and corporate assignments in retirement advice. As a qualified actuary, you will use your experience to advise on valuations, strategy reviews, accounting and other retirement work. Additionally, you will have opportunities to engage with clients on innovative, market-leading projects.
  • You will also have a role in developing business from our existing client base and working with new prospects, engaging in broader conversations with both clients and prospects about how our offerings can be beneficial to them
  • You will work as part of a team, building relationships and liaising effectively with colleagues. You will take an active interest in the development of more junior staff, delegating effectively and providing development opportunities through mentoring.
  • You should manage your workload independently, meeting deadlines and budgets while keeping colleagues and clients informed. Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded, potentially serving as project manager and seeking ways to improve team efficiency and processes.
  • You would be expected to become a key contact for the client and their other professional advisors, working in partnership to understand and meet the clients’ needs, and present advice to clients of all sizes.
