Job Overview
Southern Water is seeking an experienced and strategic
Senior Communications & Campaigns Manager to join our Marketing and Brand team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Brand, you will establish and lead a new Customer Communications and Campaigns team dedicated to delivering a cohesive, insight-led strategy.
You will develop and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns that align with key business priorities, enhance Southern Water’s reputation, and educate customers. A key focus will be supporting reputation recovery efforts in Hastings following a serious incident through targeted, collaborative campaigns.
Your role will include responsibility for customer communications, including email newsletters and service comms. This includes overseeing the communications plan for key customer journeys ensuring that all activity works together to deliver a joined-up outcome for customers. Your role will involve managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, leading agency partnerships, overseeing campaign budgets, and driving measurement and analytics to ensure continuous improvement and return on investment. This is a unique opportunity to influence perception at a pivotal time for the water industry and lead a dynamic team committed to positive change.

You are a proactive communications and marketing leader with a proven track record in developing innovative, data-driven campaigns that deliver measurable results. You thrive managing and inspiring high-performing teams, and you excel at stakeholder engagement across diverse internal and external audiences.
You are highly organised, skilled in juggling multiple projects to tight deadlines within a fast-paced and challenging sector. Your communication skills are excellent, both written and verbal, and you bring a problem-solving mindset with the ability to challenge creatively and constructively.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent people management and leadership skills to build and develop a high-performing team
- Strong stakeholder management (internal and external)
- Proven ability to create highly creative, insight-driven marketing campaigns
- Experienced in project management, including managing budgets and meeting deadlines
- Proactive problem solver who anticipates and resolves challenges
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Expertise in planning, executing, and overseeing multiple marketing projects and campaigns
- Ability to analyse campaign metrics, track performance, and make data-driven decisions
- Skilled in developing innovative and integrated marketing campaigns
- Experienced in managing key stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external agencies
- Strong budget management experience
- Recognised marketing qualification (e.g., CIM or equivalent) preferred

Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington office and home.
