Senior Cyber Security Analyst

Allen Lane are proud to be supporting the London Borough of Camden in their search for a Senior Cyber Security Support Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, security-first digital team in one of London’s most ambitious and progressive boroughs.

The Senior Cyber Security Support Analyst sits within Camden’s Cyber Security Team, which plays a critical role in safeguarding the council’s infrastructure, systems, and data. You’ll be working as part of a collaborative and growing team delivering real-time threat monitoring, incident response, and continuous security improvements across a complex technology estate.

The role

As Senior Cyber Security Support Analyst, you will:

• Monitor and investigate alerts from key cyber defence systems including SIEM, DLP, EDR, IDS/IPS and firewalls
• Respond to incidents and service requests, performing root cause analysis and escalating as appropriate
• Maintain and improve Camden’s security tooling, reducing false positives and ensuring optimal performance
• Provide expert support across the organisation on cyber security risks, queries and access controls
• Lead on vulnerability scanning and remediation tracking, supporting Camden’s compliance obligations
• Produce detailed reports and documentation to support decision-making and incident response

Key Skills required

• Experience working in a cyber security or technical support environment, ideally within a SOC or similar setting
• Understanding of modern threat vectors including phishing, malware, and ransomware
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems, cloud environments, and network security fundamentals
• Knowledge of SIEM and endpoint protection technologies
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g. Python, PowerShell) is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and an analytical mindset
• A methodical, detail-oriented approach and ability to stay calm under pressure

Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent will strengthen your application.
