This senior position is key to our Data and Analytics function, providing technical leadership and ownership of complex data platforms. You will collaborate across teams to architect scalable, maintainable, and impactful data infrastructure, driving innovation and excellence in every solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, evolve, and scale Expana’s core data platform with a focus on extensibility, performance, and observability.
- Design and implement efficient data pipelines, including web scraping processes, to support automated and manual ingestion workflows.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure), leveraging orchestration, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline data workflows and support user self-service.
- Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity across all platforms.
- Monitor system health and lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis efforts.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, facilitating knowledge sharing and architectural reviews.
Skills & Experience
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable) and orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Advanced Python skills and strong software engineering principles (modular design, testing, version control).
- Experience developing robust web scraping pipelines, including managing scale and resilience.
- Expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
- Strong understanding of security protocols and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to independently lead complex projects and improve engineering practices.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership capability to influence platform direction and architectural decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience delivering complex engineering projects independently.
