You'll have the flexibility to work from your local CGI office or from home, with travel to client site, as required. All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible and willing to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC).
Your future duties and responsibilities
Be part of something exciting and help strengthen the digital revolution. You'll join our innovative UK team tasked with creating and managing data infrastructure and tools, typically designing and building data pipelines and platforms that underpin critical projects.
Our successful Digital Solutions Centre is continuing to expand and we're looking for more talented individuals to help us meet growing demand from our clients. Our teams are bursting with talent, and are trusted to help deliver transformative digital work for clients across multiple industries in both the private and public sectors.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimisation of data pipelines and platforms, supporting clients across public and private sectors. This position also offers the opportunity to play a key role in data engineering initiatives, and your insights and expertise will help drive innovation, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge and scalable to meet growing client demands.
Furthermore, you'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Your role will be instrumental in building data-driven cultures across client organisations, helping them leverage analytics to drive better decision-making.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
We're looking for a range of the following skills and experiences:
- Proficiency in object-oriented or functional scripting languages such as Python, SQL, Scala, or Spark-SQL.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and technologies, including GCP, AWS, and Azure.
- Expertise in data tools such as Databricks, Spark, Kafka, and relational or NoSQL databases like Postgres or Cassandra.
- Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Talend, Matillion, Informatica, AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Experience in data warehousing.
- Expertise in building and optimising 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and datasets.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure, system, and security configurations (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes).
- A graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
