Senior Debt Finance Lawyer – Major US Law Firm

SSQ is partnering with a major US law firm in the search for a Senior Debt Finance Lawyer (6–8 PQE) to join their growing Debt Finance practice, which has a strong track record advising sponsor, corporate, and lender clients.

What you can expect:

You will join a highly regarded team advising on complex debt financing transactions for private equity sponsors, borrowers, and lenders across a range of sectors. The practice covers leveraged acquisitions, multi-jurisdictional financing transactions, domestic and cross-border syndicated lending, direct lending, special situations, restructurings, and debt issuances.

You can expect to work on:

• Acting on acquisition and financing transactions for mid-market private equity sponsors
• Advising lenders on cross-border syndicated loans and debt packages
• Structuring direct lending and junior debt deals for mid-cap companies across various industries
• Executing debt financing for sponsors’ buy-and-build strategies, portfolio expansion, and add-on acquisitions
• Advising borrowers on refinancing, debt restructurings, and bondholder negotiations across bank and bond facilities
• Providing strategic advice to asset managers and investment funds on portfolio financing

What we are looking for:

• England & Wales-qualified solicitor with 6–8 years’ post-qualification experience
• Experience across both lender- and borrower-side debt finance, with exposure to mid-market private debt transactions
• Strong technical knowledge of leveraged finance, acquisition finance, and complex lending structures
• London market experience at a major international law firm
• Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical, solutions-focused advice
• The right to work and live in the United Kingdom
