What We Are Looking For...

The Senior Digital Designer will help bring the River Island brand to life with innovative and engaging design, starting from the initial brief all the way through to project completion. Whether part of an overall campaign or a standalone communication, your design capabilities will help the River Island brand stand out and achieve objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Bring the River Island brand to life with innovative and engaging multi-channel graphic design. You will be specialising in digital design but have the knowledge to design for print.
  • You will help to lead, motivate, and inspire our multi-channel, multidiscipline creative team to produce first class creative whilst being the best version of themselves.
  • Attend brainstorm sessions as part of the Senior Creative Team, responding to creative briefs.
  • Confidently present concepts to the team and internal stakeholders.
  • Sign-off day-to-day projects, ensuring design directives and a consistently high standard is met with synergy and consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Keep all stakeholders up to date on project developments, allowing for changes or amendments.
  • Work closely with the Traffic Team to assign and manage the team’s day-to-day output; working to a designer’s strengths whilst challenging them to grow in their roles. You may need to brief freelance support when necessary.
  • ·Handover and brief the artwork team for them to deliver print ready files and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with our internal UX/UI team and content developers to push the boundaries of design and functionality for the River Island website.
  • Maintain seasonal brand and design style guides; ensuring design across all channels, both online and offline, is consistent.
  • You are fascinated by what makes brands tick and talented enough to turn that understanding into memorable multi-channel designs.
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years proven experience as a Digital Designer in the Fashion industry or in a similar creative role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a similar creative field.
  • Hands-on experience in the creative process, UX, marketing, graphic design, and brand development.
  • You have an insatiable love for fashion and graphic design.
  • A strong holistic view to creative problem solving whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven experience in concepting innovative and engaging multi-channel creative.
  • A strong ability to provide feedback, influence and inspire junior team members.
  • ·Ability to work under pressure to meet creative deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and confidently, with colleagues below, above, and adjacent.
  • Ability to collaborate with the wider creative services teams on content creation, including Brand Marketing, Art Directors & the Studio Team.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative.
  • Technical knowledge of both digital and print processes.
  • High technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch and Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe After Effects and motion graphics capabilities.
  • Solid video editing skills for social and campaign content.
  • Portfolio to include: email and website designs together with campaign concept.
  • Knowledge of workflow tools.
