Senior Director of Neuroimmunology

My client is one of the largest CNS focused Pharmaceuticals in Europe and are now in the position to hire a Senior Director/ VP level individual where you will be tasked with the design, analysis and interpretation of the assets’ clinical development efforts and lead large complex programs globally, You will be responsible for gradually building this newly established therapeutic area department, including recruiting your own team. (Currently 2 people will report into this hire).
This is a very exciting time for the business working on disease-modifying biologicals with multiple modes of action, alongside this you will also act as a senior medical representative of the company, and present at conferences, investor meetings, partnership consultations, and public-private partner collaborations.
- Contribute to the development of phase I-IV clinical protocols and work closely with other functional areas within the R&D departments (regulatory, clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, clinical pharmacology, preclinical) to facilitate the execution of clinical trials and programs
- Develop and implement strategic clinical plans for investigational products for neuroimmunology and neuroinflammation
- Identify and interact with opinion leaders to integrate current therapeutic area clinical practice and guidelines into global clinical development plans
- Work with project team members, regulatory affairs and senior management to integrate competitive intelligence and regulatory strategy with the clinical strategic plan
- Serve as a Clinical Lead and medical resource for clinical issues raised by internal and external collaborators, investigators, consultants and business development contacts
- Provide strategic input on new product concepts, strategic plans, and licensing opportunities
- Represent at scientific, industry, regulatory, advocacy, and financial community meetings and presentations, as well as other public relations opportunities
- MD, ideally a board-certified neurologist, with solid relevant research experience as well as clinical development early and late phase experience in neuroimmunology and neuroinflammatory diseases; biologics experience is highly desired.
- Excellent knowledge of study publication processes and publications within the neuroimmunology disease area
- Good knowledge of study execution, benefit-risk management, and regulatory affairs
- Demonstrated excellence in project/program management and matrix leadership
