Senior Employee Relations Advisor
Band 6 | Part-time (33 hours) | Hybrid working | Worthing (Portland House)
£38,682 – £46,580 per annum, pro rata

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join our Senior ER team. This is a great opportunity to step into a senior, influential role where your expertise will directly support managers, leaders and services delivering vital mental health and learning disability care across Sussex.
About the role
As a Senior ER Advisor, you’ll manage a varied and complex caseload, providing high-quality, pragmatic employee relations support across the organisation. You’ll work closely with managers, senior leaders and trade union colleagues, supporting on formal conduct, disciplinary, grievance and dignity at work cases, absence and performance management, management of change, redeployment and workforce redesign, complex investigations and hearings, and the ongoing development of ER policy and practice. This is a high-impact, autonomous role where you’ll balance casework with coaching managers, identifying early interventions, and promoting resolution-focused and learning-led approaches.

About you
You’ll be an experienced HR/ER professional who brings confidence, credibility and sound judgement to complex people matters. We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate significant experience managing a complex ER caseload, strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice, experience working in a unionised environment, confidence supporting managers through sensitive and high-risk cases, and a collaborative, solution-focused and values-led approach. CIPD qualification is desirable. NHS experience is welcome but not essential.
