Help us create a better future, quicker
Lead the charge in shaping the energy networks of tomorrow by designing and developing innovative, high-impact projects. You’ll be at the heart of creating robust, seamlessly coordinated substation initiatives and strategic programmes of work that power entire licence areas.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the delivery of innovative, high-impact programmes that drive efficiency, value, and regulatory performance across our licence areas. You’ll develop forward-thinking plans and balanced workbooks, aligning business outputs with strategic, financial, and operational goals.
As a key representative of SP Energy Networks, you’ll build trusted relationships with stakeholders and customers, champion a culture of safety, and embrace innovation to continuously improve how we design and deliver. With a strong engineering foundation, you’ll enhance the resilience and longevity of our network while mentoring future talent and shaping the energy systems that power our communities.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong foundation in design standards up to 33kV, along with a deep understanding of the regulatory environment, including key output and incentive mechanisms. Your commercial awareness enables you to strike the right balance between exceptional customer service, efficient network design, and maximising return on investment and have a proven track record of engaging effectively with stakeholders and customers, backed by excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organisation.
You’ll be adept at managing competing priorities, using sound engineering and financial judgement to identify optimal solutions. A clear grasp of the business drivers and the wider commercial landscape in which SP Energy Networks operates is essential. Your background will include technical and operational leadership in a relevant engineering role within the utilities sector, where you’ve demonstrated the ability to solve complex challenges and apply advanced network analysis modelling tools.
To be considered, you’ll need a relevant engineering or professional qualification or equivalent experience, a solid history in project development, hands-on experience in network construction or operations, and strong computer literacy.
What’s In It For You
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
