Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - Curation and Distribution Platform to lead the application architecture and engineering teams within our World-Check Curation and Distribution platform. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform, ensuring it remains robust, scalable, and innovative in a constantly evolving industry.
You will be responsible for driving the technical vision, leading engineering teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software that powers the curation and distribution of critical data to our clients. Your expertise will help us scale our platform, improve performance, and deliver new features that add value to the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead application architecture and engineering teams for the World-Check Curation and Distribution platform.
- Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for the platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure high levels of service, quality, security, and performance are consistently met. As the need arises, target technical debt in these areas and prioritise appropriately alongside feature delivery.
- Drive innovations to handle growing data volumes, reduce cost, and accelerate time to market.
- Champion architectural best practices and modern engineering principles to ensure the platform is scalable, maintainable, and resilient.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, and other stakeholders to deliver features that meet customer needs.
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team, helping individuals perform to their optimum ability.
- Work with all business areas to target shared challenges and improve the efficiency of your engineering team.

You have:
- Degree level qualification, preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, distributed engineering teams and complex application architectures.
- Experience with cloud technologies (predominantly AWS, but experience with Azure and GCP will be beneficial).
- Experience with the Java development stack and modern distributed systems.
- Experience building high performance, scalable, and resilient solutions.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Comfortable working in a multi-location, multi-time zone environment, with remote stakeholders and dependent teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate across all management and organizational levels.
- Proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, value and detail oriented with a proven track record to deliver on commitments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Experience of working with ML/AI technologies would be beneficial.
