In respect of the SPR Renewable Business the Senior Land and Estates Surveyor, is responsible, through independently managing a portfolio of work, for assisting the Land and Estates Manager in delivering the professional land and estate management services to the expanding SPR offshore and onshore renewable businesses including wind, battery, solar, and other technologies.
Services cover the capture of land from inception to completion of the process in line with project requirements including provision of setting, reviewing & recommending SPR policy regarding appropriate & competitive heads of / commercial terms, Land Referencing, negotiation & legal completion of land rights acquisition, Estates Management & Rentals and Landowner Relationship Management.
What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Land & Estates Manager to lead the negotiation, acquisition, and management of land rights for major renewable energy projects. This pivotal role involves working closely with landowners, legal teams, and project stakeholders to secure and manage the land access required for successful project delivery across development, construction, and operational phases.
You will be responsible for negotiating Heads of Terms and legal agreements, ensuring all land rights are accurately captured and compliant. Your expertise will support the valuation of land rights, compulsory purchase matters, and the development of land strategies. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining consistency across projects, updating legal templates, and advising on risk and mitigation strategies.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll act as a key liaison with landowners and joint venture partners, ensuring obligations are met and estate management systems are kept up to date. You’ll also contribute to due diligence for new acquisitions and joint ventures and support financial oversight in collaboration with rating consultants.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor and guide junior team members, while ensuring the highest standards of land rights compliance and project support across a dynamic and growing renewable energy portfolio
What You’ll Bring
You will have a degree in land related discipline and be a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Experience in estates management and acquisition surveying as well as an understanding of the Renewables market and Technologies.
